? Responsible for opening and closing cases on the electronic case tracking system.
? Manage the Oracle databases for tracking the status of all incoming and outgoing extradition and mutual legal assistance cases.
? Record pertinent details concerning the opening and closing of extradition and mutual legal assistance cases in the Oracle databases.
? Create a physical DOJ file folder (containing the case opening documents) for each new case and forward the file to the assigned attorney for handling.
? Analyze all incoming correspondence (including mail and faxes), documents, and related information pertaining to cases, record the relevant information in the Oracle system (by scanning and logging the information) and distribute the documents to the recipients;
? Analyze any outgoing correspondence and record any relevant details in the Oracle system if the OIA/IPTU/IPTU staff on the country team has not already done so. (This is primarily a function performed by the OIA/IPTU team staff.)
? Close cases on the Oracle system, prepare the physical file for referral to the Criminal Division's Records and Information Management Staff (RIMS) and send the file to RIMS in preparation for NARA preservation.
? Assist in ordering files from the Federal Records Center, and tracks the files while they are in OIA/IPTU/IPTU.
? Retrieve unclassified cables from tl1e DOJ Telecommunications Terminal, and distribute them to the appropriate recipients.
? Receive e-mailed copies of Interpol Red Notices and Diffusion Notices and open new matters on the Oracle
? Retrieve and compile information from the electronic case tracking system and prepare reports.
? Manage requests for OIA/IPTU statistical and case status information.
? Responsible for generating statistical and case status reports.
